This is the best time to invest in India, said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday, urging the Russian business community to seize the opportunity.
Swaraj, while launching the Russia Desk at the third Eastern Economic Forum in the Pacific port city of Vladivostok, said, such favourable environment for doing a business has never been there in the country.
"This is the best time to invest in India. The favourable environment for doing a business, which is there in India today, has never been earlier. One should take advantage of this opportunity," Swaraj said here.
Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for putting a stop to Red Tapism and making it easy for setting up business in the country, Swaraj said, the entire process now is being reviewed by the Indian authority.
"All unnecessary laws have been scrapped and the rules have been made more flexible," she said.
"We have rolled out GST, which would also help the businessmen that used to be an issue of concern," she added.
Swaraj said that number of flagship programmes have been introduced in India, like 'Make in India', 'Skill India', 'Digital India', 'Clean India', 'Start-up India' and 'Stand up India,' under which companies are welcome to set-up their business as per their interest.
