As the number of people affected by swine flu breached the ten thousand mark, the Congress party on Thursday alleged that it reflected the 'insensitive' attitude of the BJP-led government at the Centre as no awareness is being created about various aspects, symptoms and cure of the disease.

"The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is being insensitive. The number of deaths due to swine flu has been massively increasing. Recently, more than 10,000 have been found affected by swine flu, 700 deaths have been registered and many more are unregistered," said Congress spokesperson Shobha Oza.

"No awareness is being created about various aspects, symptoms and cure of swine flu. No medicines are available for the disease and the tests are too expensive for the common people," she added.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda had earlier said that there is no dearth of medicines and hospitals are equipped to deal with swine flu.

Swine flu deaths have soared to 663 across the country. Swine flu cases have been reported from new states like Jammu and Kashmir and Nagaland. Authorities in these two states have issued alerts following the detection of H1N1 cases.
