Swiss authorities have reportedly conceded that a FIFA official arrested in a raid in May on corruption charges has been extradited to the United States.

According to the BBC, the official was one of the seven FIFA officials detained over corruption allegations at a luxury hotel in Zurich on 27 May.

Although the identity of the official hasn't been disclosed, initial reports state that Jeffrey Webb had agreed not to fight his extradition and face the charges in a New York court.

Webb, a former FIFA vice president and president of the CONCACAF regional soccer federation, is accused of taking bribes worth millions of dollars in connection with the sale of marketing rights.

Earlier, Swiss authorities and the United States had launched separate criminal proceedings into FIFA's awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
