Taare Zameen Par, a special treat for special children

Round Table, a global NGO on Wednesday organised 'Taare Zameen Par', a unique painting competition for differently abled and physically challenged children here on the occasion of Children's Day.

Around 800 differently abled children from eight different schools in the city participated in the painting competition. The competition was simultaneously held in several other parts of the country including Visakhapatnam. Around 40,000 children took part across the country.

Children from 3-15 years of age participated in the competition. The children were also treated royally with their choicest dishes. Enjoying their day out, they expressed their joy with colours.

Speaking with ANI, Himanshu Gupta, the coordinator of Round Table said that 'Taare Zameen Par' is a national initiative of Round Table India, where painting and sketch competitions are organised for differently abled children to help them unravel their hidden skills.

 

Children's day is celebrated with much fervour across the country on the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to commemorate his love for children. This competition has been organised across the country on November 14 for the past 12 years.
