Thousands of people from the Tai community gathered at the Poi-Pee Mau ground in Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai District to celebrate their New Year festival.
The three-day-long event was organized with an aim to preserve and promote Tai traditions and culture.
Artists from different tribes of Arunachal Pradesh performed traditional dances and songs on the occasion.
The Tais are one of the major tribes of Arunachal Pradesh who inhabit the Brahmaputra Valley that stretches through Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Tai people from the northeast meet regularly to preserve their culture, language and manuscripts. Every festive occasion or celebration of the Tai people revolves around the principles and teachings of Lord Buddha.
