Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) in its report has revealed that crimes including murder, rape, looting and torture were committed by the Taliban and their associates during their three week siege of the northern city of Kunduz.
According to the Tolo news, the report reveals that targeted killings, taking of hostages, freeing prisoners were also among the crimes committed by Taliban.
The report confirms that women and girls were raped in Kunduz. However the Taliban has repeatedly rejected these claims as untrue.
Nearly 50 civilians were killed and 350 others were injured after the extremist group captured the city and 1000 have been displaced since due to Taliban invasion, the report added.
The commission to investigate the Kunduz siege by Taliban was appointed by the Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
During his visit to the city, he said that the initial investigation revealed that people of Kunduz do not need food but a good system.
