Taliban denies death reports of Jalaluddin Haqqani

The Taliban has denied reports of the death of Jalaluddin Haqqani, the founder of Haqqani network which is an allied militant group.

The reports had come a day after the Taliban confirmed that its leader Mullah Omar had died.

According to the Dawn, Haqqani's family also rejected rumours of his death, according to an Afghan Taliban commander from an undisclosed location in northwestern Pakistan.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the Taliban is split over the election of a new leader following the death of founder Mullah Omar.
