ANI New Delhi, [India]

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Saturday questioned as to where separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was when the army helped Kashmiris during the floods and as to why he stopped locals from seeking the army's help?

Rakesh Sinha, an R.S.S ideologue, asked, " Where was Geelani when the army helped Kashmiris during the floods? Why did he urge Kashmiris not to take the army's help?

He told ANI, "Geelani is a Taliban ideologue. I believe there are certain elements in the valley who are trying to unsettle the democratic, cultural and social life of the people. No matter, however macroscopic is their minority in the valley, but they are using militancy to suppress the collective voice of the people who want peace, harmony and a democratic life."

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Member of Parliament Sharad Yadav said, "It does not befit a man, giving statements after statements. The question of Kashmir is not right. Kashmir issue is a massive and complex one."

The comments came in the light of Geelani's request to parents to avoid sending their children to army run institutions, saying that, "for petty material gain, we are losing our next generation."

The Hurriyat hardliner expressed apprehension over reports of "mischievous activities" taking place in these goodwill schools run by the army.
