Former Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has hit out against the new government for backtracking against its former stance that terror and talks cannot go together when engaging with Pakistan.
"The broad message which has gone to the various actors in Pakistan, including permanent establishment and the non-State actors is that whatever the BJP had been saying over the past 10 years was merely political rhetoric. They have done a complete U-turn. It seems ostensibly that terror and talks can go together in their dictionary," said the former Union Minister.
The Congress leader also said that this stance of the government can have long-term implications on national security.
