In an endeavor to promote peace, friendship and unity through games, the Tanghkul Naga Society of Delhi recently organized the seventh annual Tamchon Football Tournament.
The tournament, a 15-day carnival of football and cultural extravaganza, concluded on November 30 at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium here.
A total of 16 teams comprising of players from different northeastern states participated in the tournament to promote peace, friendship and unity among the youth of the country.
The final match between Kangla Sanaroi Lup of Meitei and HMar FC attracted a large crowd.
" Because of this platform today we could bring together as brother and sister from the same region so it make a lots of sense to us, sense of security, sense of comfortable to live here so that's the great part of the Tamchon Tournament," said Dr Yaruingam, Vice President, Tangkhul Naga Society, Delhi.
"I really want to see many players from northeast playing for National game. Our football organization should really work hard to groom our young players so that they can play more outside and international level," said Renedy, an international football player

The winning team received the winning Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh.
" I feel proud to be part of this and I have been playing for seven times as a captain. It's been the fourth time we are in the first and this is the maiden time that we got Trophy," said Emanuel, captain Hmar FC.
During the closing ceremony, young artists from Mizoram performed a bamboo dance.
Roslyne Hmar from Manipur enthralled the audience with her melodious voice. Her performance was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
" I feel proud to be part of this and being a Hmar I feel more proud as we win the match. I am very happy to see here everyone. We are all brother and sister no matter what tribe or community you belong. We are all one," said Hamr.
Such events promote national integration and spread the message of peace and unity.
