Tamil Nadu Finance Minister D. Jayakumar on Thursday presented a tax-free budget in the state assembly which also marks the first budget of the Chief Minister E. Palaniswami headed AIADMK Government.
Around Rs. 610 crore will be provided for drinking water supply. New deep bore wells will be sunk and the existing ones will be rejuvenated.
Migrant labourers will get temporary accommodation on rent.
Around 10,000 visually impaired persons will get smart canes.
Diesel tax exemption for fisher folk are hiked from 15,000 litres to 18,000 a boat.
Revenue deficit is projected at 15,930 crore while the fiscal deficit projected at 41,977 crore which is 2.79 percent of GSDP.
