A Tamil Nadu laboratory will conduct DNA tests on the human remains found on the Dornier aircraft found at sea, the Coast Guard confirmed.

"The Olympic Canyon had recovered certain human remains from the line of wreckage on July 12. DNA tests of the remains are to be carried out at a Tamil Nadu forensic laboratory," Indian Coast Guard IG, SP Sharma said.

Indian Naval Submarine Sindhudhavaj, whilst on task for locating the missing aircraft, had picked up a barrage of transmissions in a depth of 996 meters on July 6.

This information was a vital source for deployment of the Reliance vessel, M/v Olympic Canyon to localize the search.

Consequently, the unrelenting and uninterrupted search finally yielded positive results.

The Dornier aircraft went missing on June 8 after a routine maritime surveillance sortie along the Tamil Nadu coast.
