Tarun Tahiliani, with his opulent Mughal-themed wedding collection, raised the curtain on the four-day of 'BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014' in New Delhi.
Aptly titled 'Modern Mughals', the line was a melange of Indian craftsmanship perfected over generations with the fit, finish and functionality of western dressing. He broke convention by opening the show with a black bridal ensemble.
Speaking at the event, he said: "We can see anything in history but leave that past. We are a democracy from so many years; we should think the ways of modernizing it. The most important thing is that now people wear a lot of modern clothes, so we should do simple things also. Tailoring should be very beautiful."
The sixth edition of the fashion week is organized at DLF Emporio, and will be concluded here on August 10.
