Tata Sons on Tuesday announced the appointment of Pradipta Bagchi as the Group Chief Communications Officer, who will take up the new role today.
Bagchi, who has been serving as the global head of communications at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be reporting to Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, in his new role.
A professional with over 25 years of experience in business, media and communications, Bagchi was responsible for designing key thought leadership initiatives as well as designing TCS' engagement on global platforms.
"Pradipta brings extensive experience as a Communication professional. As the Group Chief Communications Officer, he will play a key role in driving seamless communication experience across the Tata group as well as create engagement with stakeholders. Having worked with Pradipta for a decade, I know that his energy and experience will be very valuable in this area," Chandrasekaran said.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to work under Chandra. It will be my endeavour to help build on the core strengths of the Tata Group," Bagchi said.
An alumnus of the University of Sussex, Bagchi has been an editor and reporter with prominent Indian media houses like The Times of India, The Economic Times and the Business Standard prior to joining the TCS.
