Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Jolly is expected to present himself before Delhi Police for a third time on Monday since he defaced the name plate at the residence of former Tehelka managing editor Shoma Chaudhury.
He will also appear before the National Commission for Women on the same issue.
Delhi Police had questioned Jolly on Friday and Saturday and the latter asked him to appear again on Monday to record his statement in the case.
A case under the Indian Penal Code and the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act was registered against Jolly at the police station on Thursday evening.
Around 50 BJP members, led by Jolly, reached Chaudhury's house in Saket last Thursday and raised slogans against her. Jolly painted the name plate black and also wrote the words "Accused" on it with black paint. He also poured black paint on the pathway outside Chaudhury's house.
Jolly has claimed that Chaudhury was suppressing facts and evidence against the magazine's recused editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman colleague.
He has also charged the Congress Party and the UPA-II Government of deliberately targeting him in connection with the Tehelka-related sexual assault case.
"I have been associated with the BJP for 36 years like a disciplined soldier. My protest was against Tehelka and not against a woman journalist. The Congress is targeting me. I am being politically victimised," he had said then.
