Telangana CEO bats for tobacco-free polling stations

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr Rajat Kumar has asked the authorities to make polling stations tobacco-free during the polls on December 7.

Kumar has instructed all District Collectors and District Election Officers and the Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to ensure that all polling stations in their respective jurisdictions were free from tobacco.

The CEO has also ordered the authorities to paste "No-Smoking area" stickers already supplied inside the booths as well as outside.

The Telangana Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held on December 7, in a single phase. The result will be announced on December 11 along with that of other four states-- Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Mizoram.
