A clash between farmers and personnel of the forest department left 14 people injured in the Marrigudem village of the Chandrugonda Mandal region of Telangana on Monday.
According to reports, the injured included 10 villagers and four forest department personnel.
The clash reportedly broke out when a group of farmers engaged in cultivation of 'Podu lands' Marrigudem resisted the attempts by the Forest Department to fix the boundaries of the 'forest land' around their village.
As per reports, the farmers opposed the process, viewing it as a 'ploy' to snatch away their land. Clashes broke out when the Forest Department allegedly tried to press into action earth moving machines near the village.
The police is understood to have shifted the injured to a hospital in Kothagudem.
