Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao has urged the centre to increase the Haj slots allotted to the state for the current year.
The chief minister wrote a letter to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to this effect last evening.
He stated that the number of seats allotted to the state has come down from that of the number it was in combined Andhra Pradesh.
Furthermore, Rao said that over 5,580 seats were allotted for the combined state last year whereas it came down to about only 2700 seats for Telangana this time.
