The foundation day of Telangana, the 29th state of the country formed after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, has been declared to be on June 2 by the Home Ministry.
The central government has already issued a gazette notification on the formation of the 29th state of the country.
The Telangana Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha on 20th February in the face of noisy protests.
The Union Cabinet on Friday decided to impose President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh, as the state had no chief minister, after N. Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned from the post.
