Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said the government is set to increase the salaries of state assembly employees at par with parliament employees.

At a reply to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Kishan Reddy, Rao said "Now people have begun to think diversely and so the opposition cannot take advantage to mislead people. We cannot default the dues we owe, because it leads to negative reputation to state."

"We have monthly receipts and expenditures, until demonetisation we used to receive 8000 crores and we have 5600 crores expenditures. So, we are adjusting the remaining money to pay the increment. We also have to increase payment to legislative employees as similar to parliamentary employees," he added.
