In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 65-year-old neighbour in Telangana's Kamareddy district.
"The incident happened yesterday. Police registered a case under section 376 (F) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act," Superintendent of Police Swetha told ANI.
The man identified as Pochaiah who was arrested today, ran a grocery shop near the house of the victim.
According to the police, Pochaiah lured the minor into his house after offering her chocolates and biscuits and allegedly raped her on two occasions around a fortnight back.
The victim's mother lodged a complaint yesterday.
