Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mehmood Ali on Tuesday distributed Tablet PCs to the Village Revenue Officers (VROs) of Hyderabad district to curb land encroachment.
As part of Golden Telangana, the government has decided to provide the Tablet PCs to the VROs in the entire state for rendering effective services by the field level staff.
Ali, who also holds the Revenue portfolio, told the media the government's move will check the illegal encroachment of land by the mafia.
"Earlier, the VROs used to work with pen and paper, which had many loopholes. Now, the VROs will be able to shoot the video of any encroachment and send it to the collector for further action," said Ali.
Praising Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao , he said that Telangana created 21 districts in three years, which shows chief minister's desire of development.
