The TV broadcast of the Beatles' first appearance on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' on Feb. 9, 1964 was carried by very high frequency waves, which are still travelling in the universe.

The TV broadcast traveled at the speed of light to 73 million viewers, then out into space, and now the researchers have found that those waves, which are currently about 300 trillion miles away, are still traveling, Fox News reported.

They reached Alpha Centauri, 4.4 light years away, in 1968 and 5 years later they stretched out to Sirius, 8.6 light years away.

By the time The Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, the signal from that broadcast had traveled 24.4 light years to 107 Piscium, an orange dwarf star in the Pisces constellation.

In 1991, the waves reached Zeta Herculis, a multiple star at the southwest corner of the 'keystone' of Hercules 35 light years away.

The waves will supposedly reach to 51 PEGASI, which is 50.9 light years away, on February 9, 2014.
