Minister of Communications and Information Technology Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad told telecom companies on Tuesday that the campaign against call-drop and BTS towers can't go hand in hand.

"Campaign against call drop and campaign against BTS tower can't go hand in hand. Telecom companies need to invest in infrastructure." said Prasad.

Targeting the campaign against BTS tower, Prasad reiterated the absence of any scientific basis about the harm of telecom tower radiation.

Focusing on the call-drop complaints, he added, "Department of Telecomm has been proactive in solving the issue of call drop. But the telecom operators need to work as much as the government. The companies cannot escape responsibility."

He also extended the help of government in setting up of new towers wherever necessary. "Where there is a need, new towers are needed. If there is a problem, the government is ready to support," he said.
