Retired Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar has expressed his optimism over the future of the format of Test cricket in India, and said that it is the most challenging format of the game.
In an exclusive interview with CNN, the Little Master, who had played his 200th Test against the West Indies recently, said that he believes that Test cricket has its own place as it has been forever in the game, unlike Twenty20, which is fairly new.
However, Tendulkar admitted that Test cricket requires more planning, more vision and more execution in order to understand when to speed and when to slow the game, although he added that it is easier to control the pace of the game in Test cricket unlike T20, where a player has to go according to the pace of the game.
According to Tendulkar, although both T20 and the limited-over format provides various challenges, he feels that as a package, Test cricket is far more challenging and provides even more satisfaction if a player performs well.
