2014 World Cup champions Germany returned home on Tuesday to a tumultuous welcome from tens of thousands of fans.
The German squad returned home after winning the FIFA 2014 World Cup by defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final.
Fans gathered in large numbers at Berlin Airport, where the World Cup heroes landed after their exploits at the tournament hosted by Brazil.
Led by skipper Phillip Lahm with the trophy in hand, the Germans descended from the aircraft to raucous cheers from fans.
They immediately board a black bus, which had imprints of Germany's World Cup victories in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014. The players are being taken on an open bus ride in Berlin.
Germany has now won a total of four World Cups and three European Championships. The squad will now prepare for the upcoming Euro 2016 Championship to be held in France.
The German Government plans to issue a special stamp in recognition of the feat.
