An Iraqi terror expert Hisham al-Hashimi has predicted that Islamic State (IS) militant group in Iraq and Syria may be forced to unite with al Qaeda against the West as a result of constant attacks by the United States and its allies.

He said that he has been monitoring al Qaeda's rhetoric towards IS leader al Baghdadi and said that they were getting softer. He also said that IS militants will 'come back to its mother, al Qaeda'.

According to News.com.au, al-Qaeda's Syrian offshoot al-Nusra had pledged its loyalty to IS at a strategic point on the Iraq-Syria border.

Terror experts have warned that the lightning rise of IS militants is turning into a magnet for Muslim extremists from around the globe.
