The district president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing in Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir was killed by terrorists on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, there were reports of a terrorist being killed, while two others were trapped in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.
Border Security Force (BSF) officer Tapan Mondal was killed after Pakistan Rangers initiated "unprovoked" firing on a patrol party in Samba division of the state.
