Pakistan's top-notch intelligence agencies have revealed that terrorists are plotting to carry out suicide attacks on PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf) and PAT (Pakistan Awami Tehreek) rallies in Islamabad, the country's Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan has warned.

Nisar told reporters on Saturday that the government has been put on a high alert by the intelligence agencies, the Dawn reports.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Nisar said that two suicide bombers are known to have entered Islamabad and Rawalpindi, adding their aim was to target PTI and PAT rallies.

He called for the leaders and participants of PAT and the PTI to coordinate with local administration to help them keep any such incident at bay by ensuring better security.

Nisar said over 30,000 security personnel have been deployed with very high costs, adding that security of the protestors was the government's responsibility.

He said that both the parties were permitted to hold rallies after they agreed upon certain conditions.

The Interior Minister said that the conditions are clear and the Red Zone is a red line that is not to be crossed by anyone.

He said that in case of any incident, the security agencies were prepared to take appropriate action.

Nisar warned that if any person crossed the red line, the law would swiftly come into action, the report said.
