Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Wednesday emphasized on various steps taken by the government to promote cinema in the country, and said that the upcoming National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) is a small tribute of his Ministry to the great film heritage of India.
Tewari announced the launch of the National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) here, showcasing India's rich film heritage over the past 100 years.
NMIC, situated on Pedder Road in South Mumbai, will open next month. It will bring to light the history of Indian cinema, highlighting its technological aspects of production and film screening.
It will allow visitors to watch clips of old classic or listen to rare film music. The museum will also house a collection of posters of landmark movies, and will also display a section on regional cinema.
