Tewari calls on Centre to either neutralise terrorists or Pakistan

Congress leader Manish Tewari on Wednesday called on the Centre to either neutralise the terrorists infiltrating on Jammu and Kashmir, or find a way to neutralise Pakistan.

"The only way of combating this is to increase your capacity of interdiction, intelligence and neutralisation. Either you neutralise the terrorists, or find a way to neutralise Pakistan," Tewari told ANI.

"Terrorism is the price that India is paying for living in a bad neighborhood. The fact is that ever since the nuclearisation of South Asia has taken place, Pakistan has only pursued a proxy war. The leopard is not going to change its spots; Pakistan is not going to relent," he added.

Tewari was speaking as an encounter between militants and security forces was underway in Rafiabad in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla District.

The recent cancellation of NSA-level talks between India and Pakistan has escalated tension across LoC, in which two terrorists were captured alive and several civilians were killed.
