In wake of on-going anti-government protests, Thailand's constitutional court has reportedly annulled the 2 February general elections.
The poll, called by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, was deemed void after the election was boycotted by the opposition and protestors disrupted voting.
According to the BBC, polls were not held in a number of constituencies because protesters had blocked candidate registration.
Potest leader Suthep Thaugsuban said that if a new election date is declared, then the group will take care of every province and the election won't be successful again.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the ruling Pheu Thai party, Prompong Nopparit said that the reason this election is nullified is because the polls were blocked by the protesters, adding that the party had played by the rules all along and questioned the stand of the opposition.
