Manoj Bajpai, the powerhouse of talent, felt that the character Siras pushed him into a battle, which accelerated his wish to portray him in Hansal Mehta-directorial 'Aligarh.'

The 46-year-old actor felt that his character is reluctant and not interested in fighting and that conflict "itself was the making of a great tragedy," reports the Dawn.

The 46-year-old actor's latest film 'Aligarh,' released on February 26, on one hand received an overwhelming response and on other hand, got slammed by some communities as the film brings to screen the trials of a real-life homesexual professor, Dr Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, whose sexuality is outed through a sting operation, after which he loses his job and allegedly commits suicide.

In a country, which sees homosexuality as a taboo, it was indeed a bold decision for the 'Zubeidaa' actor to take up such a role.

When asked on this, the actor said that he has no fear of losing things he has earned in his career. Moreover, he mentioned the fact of not being a judgmental person, rather looks "at the strength of the script."

This fearlessness, Bajpai says, comes from his mother, whom he describes as a "very strong woman.
