While delivering a speech at the Republic Day celebrations, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that nowhere in the constitution was holding a dharna by a chief minister prohibited.
"Some people said that I worked against the constitution, I re-read constitution but, couldn't find anything where was it written that a CM can't hold a Dharna,' said Kejriwal.
He also said that if he would have given false assurance to the people, that the police was doing its work, everything would have been fine.
"After a rape in the city if I had also said police is doing its work, and investigation is on, then everything would have been fine," he said.
"Had I also directed every police station that Rs10lakh should reach me every month, and all would have been fine," he added.
"After what we did, some autowalas told me that in last 15 days the police have stopped taking money from them, which they used to illegally," said Kejriwal.
He also said that a reporter from a big media house called him up yesterday, and said that the editor had asked the concerned reporter to make a negative story on AAP.
"A reporter from a big media house called me yesterday and said that the editor has told me to make a negative story on the AAP," said Kejriwal.
"The reporter also said that the first 50 people who were asked about AAP were not ready to speak anything against the party, and all were satisfied with the work," he said.
He further said that the Jan Lokpal Bill was almost ready.
"The Jan Lokpal Bill is almost ready and, we will pass it in a special session at Ramlila Maidan in February," he added.
