Texas lawmakers have honored late American actor John Wayne by naming 26th May as 'John Wayne Day' on the occasion of actor's 108th birthday.
Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has declared a day in honor of the quintessential screen cowboy and also named the actor as an honorary Texan, Fox News reported.
Warner Bros. recently released a photo of Wayne where he played Ethan Edwards in the 1956 film 'The Searchers', a film which is among the American Film Institute's best western movies.
