It looks like the Netflix driven series 'The Crown' has got the 'royal' approval from Her Majesty the Queen herself.

According to The Independent, Queen Elizabeth II really liked the show which depicts Queen's early years in power - and touches on some deeply intimate aspects of her life, from Her Majesty's relationship with Prince Philip to Princess Margaret's affair with a divorced man.

"Happily, she really liked it, although obviously there were some depictions of events that she found too heavily dramatized," said a royal source as quoted by The Independent.

The screenings of the show were arranged in her majesty's private apartments at Windsor Castle by her son and daughter-in-law.

The source added, "Edward and Sophie love The Crown. It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor at the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film. They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them."

The Emmy and Golden Globe-award winning drama was the most expensive TV series of all time, with the first season costing a massive 130 million USD to produce.

The second season will focus more on Philip and will span approximately 10 years, up until 1964.
