A Los Angeles court has found 'The Shield' actor Michael Jace guilty of 'second-degree' murder of his wife before their two children in May 2014.

Reportedly, the 53-year-old actor will be sentenced 40 years to life in a state prison when, as scheduled, he will be appearing before court on June 10, says E! Online.

Jurors deliberated for less than three hours over the course of two days before reaching the verdict. The ruling was changed from first-degree to second-degree murder because the jury did not believe the crime was premeditated.

Jace shot his wife in the back and then twice in the legs at their home while the couple's young children were present.

Their 10-year-old son told the court that he heard his father say, "If you like running then run to heaven," before firing the second time.

Reportedly, the 'Forest Gump' actor's attorney said that the actor acknowledged shooting and killing his wife but meant only to hurt her.
