'The Walking Dead' family mourns loss of superfan

The cast and crew of 'The Walking Dead' took to social media to remember a superfan, who lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday.

Named Lisa Williams, she was a regular at conventions and other show-related events. She had even won a fan contest to have the opportunity to interview the cast of her favourite American television series for Entertainment Weekly.

The family of the zombie apocalypse-based show poured in their grieving messages on Twitter to remember the beloved fan.

The official Twitter handle of the show tweeted, " We're deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Lisa Williams, who was one of the most passionate people (and #TWD fans) you could meet. The outpouring of love that's coming with this news goes to show how much of an impact she had on #TWDFamily. You will be missed..."

 

Brandon Davis, a part of the show's crew, wrote, "#TheWalkingDead lost a shining member of its family in Lisa Williams. She will be deeply missed. You can still contribute to her important charitable efforts".

Dalton Ross, from Entertainment Weekly, posted, "Devastated to hear about the passing of #TWD superfan @lcwilli1. I got to know Lisa when she won @EW's fan contest to interview the cast of #thewalkingdead and she was an absolute joy throughout the entire process. She will be truly missed. #RIPLisa".

Jeffrey Dean Morgan a.k.a. Negan from the show, tweeted, "Real blessed that we get to meet a lot of great and special people.... Lisa always stood out as one of the best. She will be missed by all of us that were lucky enough to know her. Xxxjd".

One of the producers of the series, Gale Anne Hurd, wrote, "May she #RIP so sad to hear. #TWDFamily forever".

Jeremy Palko a.k.a Andy posted, "So incredibly sad. RIP Lisa. #TWDFamily".

Norman Reedus who essays the role of Daryl Dixon in the series wrote, "Gonna miss u Lisa. You were always so cool and always had a smile for everyone ??????".

Carlos Navarro, the 'Alvaro', wrote, "This is so sad. She was a sweetheart and the MOST passionate #TWD family member out there. R.I.P Lisa Williams".

Alicia Witt, who played Paula on the show, tweeted, "i'm really really sad hearing the news that lisa is gone. she was such a bright light at these cons. so alive that it's hard to imagine she isn't, in this plane, any longer. glad i met you, and love to all who are hurting at your loss tonight ?? #twdfamily".

'The Walking Dead' is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series developed by Frank Darabont for AMC. It is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

The show's first season aired in 2010 and the most recent season came out in 2017. Season 9 is scheduled to release later this year.
