After Ukraine accused Russia of launching a great war, the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, has warned the west that "there is no military solution" to the Ukraine crisis.
As NATO is upgrading its combat readiness in Eastern Europe, Moon has expressed his concern over the recent developments in Ukraine and said that he wanted to prevent the situation from descending into chaos which he added would be dangerous, reported The Guardian.
He called on all the parties to resolve the political crisis through a political dialogue that would be more sustainable.
The statement came in the backdrop of the failure of the European-mediated talks on the fast-escalating crisis in Ukraine on Monday. The talks took place behind closed doors in the Belarusian capital, Minsk and were attended by the Ukrainian government, separatist and Russian envoys.
The rebels have launched a major offensive against the Ukrainian government forces that Kiev claims is being supported by Russia. Moscow however, has denied the allegation.
