The three-day martial arts competition, National Muaythai Federation Cup, concluded here at the Indoor Stadium, Srinagar on Tuesday.
The competition was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Muaythai Association under the aegis of Muaythai India National Federation in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
The event saw the participation of male and female martial art players from 15 states around the country.
All the participants were full of praise of the tournament as they appraised the step taken by the concerned sports authorities and said the event would help in boosting the sporting skills of local martial art players.
It should be noted that it is the first time such type of national event of martial arts was held in Kashmir.
Muaythai is a combat sport originating from Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.
This physical and mental discipline is known as 'the art of eight limbs' because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows knees and shins.
