At least three people were injured in two minor explosions in Guwahati's Fancy Bazaar area on Saturday.
Police Commissioner Mukesh Agrawal, however, said the after affects of a grenade blast is not observed at ground zero.
"It was observed that a child was carrying a bag and there was a sound and subsequently there was another sound. We are investigating this thing carefully. We have maintained alert in Assam based on inputs. Two to three people are suspected to be injured," Agrawal told the media here.
The area where the explosions took place is located in the heart of Guwahati and is a trading hub popular with Hindi-speaking communities.
