Three TDP leaders arrested by Maoists in Visakhapatnam

Three local Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders were kidnapped by the Maoists near Gudem Kotha Veedhi mandal of Vizag last night.

TDP president Mamidi Balayya Padal, senior leader Vandalam Balayya and district committee member Mukkala Mahesh were taken away from their homes at Kothaguda village in GK Veedhi Mandal.

Kailasam, the secretary of CPI (Maoist) party east division has sent a letter demanding that the government stop bauxite mining plans and withdraw paramilitary forces besides stopping harassment of tribals.

The TDP Government has made it clear that it would go ahead with bauxite mining.
