West Bengal Transport Minister and Saradha scam accused Madan Mitra was on Saturday admitted to the SSKM hospital here for a regular health check up.
Raising questions about Mitra's hospitalisation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said if he was trying to feign an illness then law will take its own course.
"He has been admitted to the hospital again. Is he trying to evade the law? But the law of this land is very strong. If he is trying to act up illness, if he is trying to feign an illness then surely law will take its own course and we will see to it that those involved in Saradha scam are not spared," said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.
Mitra's bail plea was rejected yesterday by a city court which extended his judicial custody till January 16.
He had earlier been hospitalized on December 19 after complaining of chest pain and respiratory distress at the Alipore Central Jail.
