Thousands of Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers on Saturday staged protest here outside the Alipore Court against arrest of West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra's by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam.
Angry protestors were seen holding placards expressing their displeasure over the CBI's decision.
In a setback to the West Bengal Government, the CBI had on yesterday arrested Mitra in connection with the Saradha scam.
The CBI had earlier this week summoned him for questioning.
TMC Member of Parliament Srinjoy Bose was earlier last month arrested by the CBI in connection with the scam.
