Former Republican Senate Majority leader and 1996 presidential candidate Bob Cole has said today's Republican Party has grown so radical that it will not welcome GOP legends like Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon.

Dole, explaining the party has gotten too conservative and attack-oriented, said that they should put a sign on the National Committee doors saying 'closed for repairs', until New Year's Day next year and spend that time going over ideas and positive agendas.

According to the New York Daily News, Dole, on Fox News, said Reagan couldn't have made it, but Nixon could not have made it, because he had ideas.

He said it is not just today's Republicans that have grown overly partisan, but also chided President Barack Obama for not working closely enough with Congress to solve the country's problems, the report added.
