Jitender Singh Tomar, who has tendered his resignation as Delhi Law Minister, reiterated on Tuesday that his degree is not fake and added that his arrest was a conspiracy by the Central government.

"My degree is completely alright. All this is a conspiracy by the Centre," Tomar, who is being taken to Faizabad today, told media persons.

Tomar was arrested yesterday and sent to four-day police custody. His arrest has come as a big jolt to the Delhi government-led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Last month, the Bar Council of Delhi had sought a police inquiry into Tomar's alleged fake law degree case.

The police inquiry was ordered after Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University in India's eastern Bihar state, from where Tomar claims he has done law, informed the Delhi High Court that the minister's degree was 'fake'.
