Pakistani Prime Minister's Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has warned of a renewed arms race in South Asia following a nuclear trade breakthrough between the United States and India.
According to Dawn News, Aziz said that Pakistan is examining the imbalance which may be caused by these agreements and considering ways to redress it.
Aziz's statement came while addressing a seminar on implications of U.S. President Barack Obama's second visit to New Delhi.
Aziz voiced concerns about the impact of the accords on the region's strategic stability and pledged to take measures to safeguard the interests of Pakistan.
