Tory councillor Barbara Driver who compared housing developers to rapists by saying "when rape is inevitable, lie back and enjoy it," has been sacked.
But her colleagues on Cheltenham council, Gloucestershire, reacted angrily and now Driver is facing calls to resign, Daily Star reported.
Lib Dem Peter Jeffries said it was an atrocious thing to say in a housing meeting.
Driver, who led a report into sex abuse in the town last year, made apologies later, saying that she was "completely inappropriate and thoughtless".
She said that she was trying to put across the fact of developers having not put much social and affordable housing in and the council saying that they can't do anything about it. She said that she heard the term long time back and used it without thinking.
