A transgender was shot dead by unknown assailants in Peshawar's Cantonment area on Sunday.
According to the Dawn, a number of armed attackers opened fire at the transgender in Khyber Supermarket.
The victim, with three bullet wounds, was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) for the treatment in critical condition; however, she succumbed to her injuries.
"After receiving her, doctors shifted the injured to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and provided treatment," the LRH spokesperson Asim Khan said and added that the victim succumbed to her injuries in the ICU.
The transgender community has demanded the arrest of the killers.
The police have launched a search operation to nab the culprits.
However, initial reports have confirmed that one of the attackers was a friend of the victim.
