Tripartite agreement signed between AAI, NSDF and NSDC

The Airports Authority of India (AAI), National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here at Taj Mansingh Hotel last week.

The agreement was signed in presence of Union Minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (IC ) Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Ministry of Civil aviation (MoCA) secretary Rajeev Nayan Choubey and other senior officials of MSDE, various airline industries, and government organizations.

The agreement was signed by A. K. Dutta, on behalf of AAI, and by CEO, NSDC, Jayant Krishna and Joint Secretary, MSDE, Rajesh Agrawal for their respective organizations.

 

Under the MoU, AAI shall provide fund of Rs.525 lakhs for a period of three years starting from the year 2016-17 to NSDF.

During the year 2016-17, Rs. 125 lakhs shall be made available to NSDF and in subsequent two years Rs. 200.00 lakhs shall be provided for "Setting up of Skill Development Centre and Skilling Youth".

AAI shall disburse its CSR Funds to NSDF and NSDC shall manage the Projects and implement through its approved training partners. AAI shall also extend its infrastructural facilities at different airports for the purpose of setting up of skill training centers subject to availability.

AAI would also encourage certification under "recognition of prior learning (RPL)" for manpower engaged by AAI itself or through its contractors. Further, AAI will also sponsor such affected persons, whose land has been acquired for AAI project, for skill development training in the identified areas for livelihood.

Speaking on the occasion, Rudy, appreciated AAI's initiative and expressed hope that it would be followed by other Ministries also.

Addressing the event, Minister of Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju also expressed pleasure for signing the MoU to impart for skill training to the youth which will meet the requirement of skilled force in various sectors.
